Archie Drives Gloria and Joey to Dr Adams House in Foxridge Duchies County.
Dr.Adams lets them rent rooms in his house. Well she goes to work at his
Veterinarians office with one rule No Pets. When a rich lady leaves her
pure-bred show dog's non-pure-bred puppies at the office and tells Gloria that
Dr Adams will destroy them for her. Gloria and Joey try rescue them, but they
learn they have misjudged the Dr. Adams who had no intention of killing them.

Trivia: Un-Aired Original Pilot for Gloria repackaged as an Archie Bunkers Place
episode. Christian Jacobs takes over the roll of Joey in this episode. CBS
rejected this pilot, veteran "All in the Family" and "Archie Bunker's Place"
writers Patt Shea and Harriett Weiss and Archie Bunker's Place and close O'Connor
associate and Archie Bunker's Place producer Joe Gannon who created wrote
produced this pilot were replaced by former "WKRP in Cincinnati writers and
future "Growing Pains" writer/producers Steve Marshall and Dan Guntzelman who
took over the helm of "Gloria".

(1) The First Day

Gloria and Joey arrive in Foxridge and find out they will be sharing a house
with Dr Adams. Dr.Adam's house is filled with various items Dr. Adams got in
exchange for his services. The hiring of Gloria comes as a surprise to Dr. Adams
Partner Dr. Maggie Laurence and his assistant Clark. Soon Joey is asking Gloria
if they could move back in with Archie. Dr. Adams convinces Gloria that he needs
her and that she should stick it out. Joey who was told by Dr. Adams he could
adopt one of the stray dogs that live on the property. Joey does not realize
Prince the dog he picks out who is a black Bouvier seems to prefer other male
dogs. Joey ironically names the “Gay Black Dog” Archie after his bigoted
grandfather Archie Bunker.

A Mystery man sends Gloria flours. After contemplating the situation and
discussing it with Maggie Gloria decides to go on a date with him, but with Maggie as a chaperone. On the date Gloria inadvertently inspires to
man to call up his astringed wife and reconcile with his wife, leaving Gloria
without a date. Meanwhile Dr Adams who has not watched TV in years spends the
night watching TV with Joey.

On an emergency call for a sick horse. Gloria gives Dr. Adams the wrong
medication to give to the horse and Dr. Adams almost administers it. After this
incident both Gloria feel restorable for the near mistake and as Gloria
contemplates quitting Adams decides his time as past and decides to retire and
become just another old man that spends his days on a park bench. Gloria goes to
the park try to convince Dr. Adams it was all her fault, but they both soon
relize they are being to hard on them selves.

(5) Pig In a Blanket

Gloria is looking forward to assisting in delivery of a pig’s litter but misses
it because Clark lies tells her Joey has been crying so he can assist Gloria
them has to deal with a client upset about her bird which makes Gloria miss the
birth of the litter. One of the piglets is a runt who Dr. Adams and Maggie are
afraid the mother would kill. Dr. Adams takes Gloria up on her offer to take
care of the runt. Care for piglet stars dominating most of Gloria’s attention
causing her to overlook her promise to Joey to help him prepare for football
tryouts. Joey does not make the football team. When Joey comes home Gloria who
does not even ask Joey about football asks Joey to feed the piglet while she
makes diner. Joey instead takes back his old blanket which Gloria has given to
the piglet and put it in the cage with it’s mother. When she ask him Joey tell
Gloria Clark too care of the pig. Dr Adams finds the piglet cold under it’s
mother in the cage Clark does not know anything about it. Gloria realizes what
Joey has done she also realizes that Joey felt neglected and she promises Joey
she will always make time for him she also gets Joey to realize what he did was
wrong.

(6) Teacher's Pet

Gloria takes a reluctant Joey to the airport to send him on a trip to visit Mike
in Calafornia. Gloria watches Joey get onto the plane, Gloria searches for
things to do with out Joey around, but Joey never arrived in San Francisco.
Gloria, Dr. Adams, Clark and Maggie desperately try to track down Joey, who it
turns out got off the plane after Gloria left the airport and has Journeyed back
to the clinic. Once Joey is tracked down Gloria convinces him to give the visit
a chance.

Gloria buys a car, but soon the dealer wants to repossess it. It turns out the
local bank rejected Gloria's car loan claiming that by divorcing Mike, Gloria
now has no credit. Maggie and Dr Adams decide to try to help Gloria but, both
are rejected as credit risks because Dr. Adams business practices make the
clinic un-profitable and a risk. This sends Gloria searching for a way to get
some cash to pay for the car.
